[WKRM DJ]
Alright folks, we're back here at WKRM The Kream, and we're taking your calls. You know, it's Friday night, it's the end of the work week; we know you've been busting your humps, and so have we. We've been inside this building, just listening to the music, and I'm sure you have been too, but we want to hear from you. Where have you been inside all week? Are you working inside, outside, inside out? We'd like to hear from you. What kinds of jobs have you had?
Work sucks.
I know.

Yah, I used to work at a one-hour photo developing booth. I spent many, many a one-hour in a lonely dark room filled with all kinds of chemicals just perusing your privates, uhm, uh... memories. Private memories. I was responsible for exposure of things that should NEVER have been exposed. I could never seem to get the saturation right, though, cause, well, see, the truth is … I'm color-blind. [sigh] Guess I'll never be a pilot...
It was an inside job, it was an inside job

Yah, I used to work at the Blockbuster; sitting at that counter all day long, watching the world go by outside that big glass front … and I rented a lot of videos, but I also collected late fees. I bankrupted so many promising young families for their copy of One Hour Photo starring Robin Williams on VHS. I was a loan shark, I won't lie. Then Netflix came along and you know what they did? They put me out of a job. I don't know what to do with myself, I'm idle all day, every day, but I know what I had and it was …
It was an inside job, it was an inside job
Inside job, it was an inside job

I'm a television editor. I control what you see.
Every title, clip, cut, split-screen (for a fee)
I edit in a way to control how you feel
and I do it so well I make you think, “Is this real?”
It was an inside job, it was an inside job
Inside job, it was an inside job
Riding the line between indie pop and psychedelic folk, the songs on the latest from The Madeleines are as gorgeous as they are mysterious. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 22, 2022
